The pattern repeat is added to the height of every strip.

How it is calculated

Take doors out of the perimeter beforehand. Matching a large pattern beyond the repeat — a half-repeat shift, for example — is not modelled here.

Rolls = round up(strips / strips per roll)

Where the numbers come from

  • Wall perimeter — unit in the field: m
  • Strip height — unit in the field: m
  • Roll width — unit in the field: m
  • Roll length — unit in the field: m
  • Pattern repeat — unit in the field: m

Example

A perimeter of 12 m, a height of 2,5 m, and a roll of 0,53×10,05 m with no pattern repeat: 23 strips, 4 to a roll, so 6 rolls.

Questions

Is the width 1,06 m?

Enter it instead of 0,53.

Are there fewer strips in a roll because of offcuts?

Increase the pattern repeat or the height so the strip gets longer.

A ceiling?

This screen is about walls. For a ceiling, swap the perimeter for the layout length yourself.
