How it is calculated
The area is the product of the sides. The perimeter is twice the sum. The diagonal comes from Pythagoras.
S = a × b, d = √(a² + b²)
Where the numbers come from
- Length
- Width
Example
Sides 3 and 4. Area 12, perimeter 14, diagonal 5.
Questions
Does it work for a square?
Yes, enter equal sides. A separate cube calculator also works out the volume.
Which units?
The same unit on both sides. The area comes out in the square of that unit.
Can I find a side from the area?
This screen solves the direct problem. If you know the area and one side, divide it yourself: the other side is S / a.
