How it is calculated
Litres are divided by the kilometres and multiplied by 100. If litres were not entered, they are rebuilt from the consumption figure: distance / 100 × L/100 km. Miles per gallon are 235,215 / (L/100 km). That is the US mpg.
L/100 km = liters / kilometers × 100
Where the numbers come from
- Distance — unit in the field: km
- Fuel used — You can leave it empty if consumption is filled in.
- Or the rate — unit in the field: L/100 km
- Fuel price — Not required.
Example
400 km used 32 L. Consumption 32 / 400 × 100 = 8 L/100 km.
Questions
Which is closer: the pump receipt or the trip computer?
A receipt and the odometer over a long stretch are usually fairer than a short number on the screen.
Can I calculate from the consumption alone?
Yes. Leave the litres empty and fill in consumption per 100 km.
Is a winter warm-up included?
Only if it is already inside the litres you spent. There is no separate surcharge.
