How it is calculated
If the rate is written as currency units per one unit of the other currency, multiply the foreign amount by the rate. To turn currency units back into that other currency, divide by the same rate.
Result = Amount × rate or Amount / rate
Where the numbers come from
- Amount
- Rate
- Operation
Example
100 of one currency at a rate of 92,5 currency units: “Multiply by the rate” gives 9 250 currency units. The reverse, 9 250 / 92,5, brings back 100.
Questions
Why is there no central-bank rate?
The add-on does not call outside services, and it does not go stale because an API was switched off. The rate lives in the input field.
Which mode is for “one currency into currency units”?
Multiply if the rate is given in currency units for one unit of the other currency.
Is the bank fee included?
No. If the bank takes 1%, reduce the amount or correct the rate yourself.
