How it is calculated
A full angle, 360°, returns the whole circle. An angle past a full turn is not accepted.
S = πr² × angle / 360, arc = 2πr × angle / 360
Where the numbers come from
- Radius
- Angle — unit in the field: °
Example
A radius of 10 and an angle of 90° give an area of 25π and an arc of 5π.
Questions
The angle in radians?
No, in degrees.
Is this the area of a segment?
No. A segment is a sector minus a triangle. Here you get only the sector and the arc.
Radius or diameter?
Radius.
