How it is calculated
The theoretical yield is calculated from the limiting reactant separately. This screen only divides figures that are already known.
Yield = actual / theoretical × 100%
Where the numbers come from
- Actual yield
- Theoretical yield
Example
8 g against a theoretical 10 g is an 80% yield.
Questions
Can the yield exceed 100%?
That happens with damp sediment or an impurity. The calculator does not cut the percent off.
Moles instead of grams?
Yes, if both fields are in moles.
Several foods?
Calculate the yield of the product whose theory you know.
