How it is calculated
It uses 30 millilitres for each kilogram of weight. The extra for a workout is added in full. You pick it: 0, 0,5, or 1 litre.
Liters = weight × 0,03 + extra
Where the numbers come from
- Weight — unit in the field: kg
- Extra for a workout
Example
70 kg with no workout: 70 × 30 mL = 2,1 L.
Questions
Do tea and soup count?
Some of the liquid in food and drinks is already allowed for in this figure. The formula cannot count every glass on its own.
Why not 40 mL?
40 mL per kg also appears in advice. 30 mL is a calmer guide for an ordinary day. You can raise the extra.
Are there reasons not to use it?
With swelling or kidney disease, a doctor sets the amount. The calculator does not know about that.
