How it is calculated
The amount is multiplied by the number of guests. This is raw meat without bone, as in “how much they will eat”, not the shop weight of a bony cut. One skewer is taken as 100 g of meat.
Kilograms = guests × grams per person / 1000
Where the numbers come from
- Guests — unit in the field: people
- Meat
- Your own amount per person — An empty field means the target from the list above.
Example
8 guests and pork: 8 × 400 g = 3,2 kg. About 32 skewers, if each one carries about 100 g.
Questions
Is the marinade included in the weight?
No. The figure is for the meat. Add onion and marinade on top, usually a few hundred grams of onion per kilogram.
Do children count as adults?
Lower the guest count, or enter your own amount in grams.
Is charcoal in the calculation?
No. For 3 kg of meat people often allow about a kilogram of charcoal, but grills differ.
